WaikikiのHiltonに行ってきたのでそのことについて記事にします。
外資系のホテルはどこか落ち着かない部分もありますが、サービスとしてはやはりレベルが高いです。
ワイキキのど真ん中にあるので目の前にはビーチがあって、子どもが遊べるプールも2つあります。
1つは6時までだが、もう1つの方は夜の10時まで空いているそうです。
誰がそんな時間まで泳ぐんだとも思いますが、まあ家族でも楽しめるようにしているでしょう。
街へのアクセスはもちろんいいです。
歩いて、ワイキキの街に行くことができるし、バスやタクシーなどの利用も安易にできます。
THE バケーション
と言う感じ。
毎週金曜になれば目の前のビーチで花火を見ることができます。
日本の花火と違って短い時間だが、日本であんなに近い距離で花火を見ることはできないでしょう。
多くの滞在者が自分の部屋から花火を見ていましたし、ビーチやプールからも見ています。
そういえば、まだ保育士の時に手取り17万くらいだったのに大阪のマリオットホテルに泊まったことを思い出しました。
その時は１泊で10万円くらいだった気がします。
初めての高級ホテルでしたが、ベットが謎に広くて、シャワーが２つあってどうやって使っていいかわからなかったのも良い思い出です。
寝るという同じ目的なのに値段は倍以上違うんです。
人が何にお金を使うのかがなんとなくわかった気がしましたね。
高いものを初めて経験することはビビる。
寝たり、食べたりするだけなら別にそこまで高級なものは必要ないからです。
そこにあえてお金を使うことで得られるものはそれ以上のものがあるでしょう。
中には必要ないと感じるものもあります。
それは経験してみてから決めれいいだけの話。
なんでもとりあえず経験してみると言うことが大事だなと思います。
今回のヒルトンでも泊まると言うだけの目的ならもっと安いところがあるでしょう。
でも
間近で花火を見たり
近くのビーチにすぐ行けたり
十分すぎるサービスを受けたりなど
それ以上のことを期待するにはヒルトンは十分に満たしてくれます。
ヒルトンに泊まっている多くの人はきっとそれらを期待しています。
泊まる
だけでなく、それ以上の思い出を作ろうとお金を払っています。
何にお金を払うのか？
誰しもお金を払う経験をするだろうが、それらをどのような場面で、何にお金を使うのか
はとても重要です。

What did I feel when I stayed at the Hilton Hotel in Waikiki?
Although there is something unsettling about foreign-affiliated hotels, the level of service is still high.
The hotel is in the middle of Waikiki, so there is a beach right in front of it and two poles for children to play.
One is open until 6:00 pm, but the other is open until 10:00 pm.
I wonder who swims until those hours, but I guess they are trying to make it family friendly.
Of course, access to the city is good.
You can walk to Waikiki, or take a bus or cab.
THE vacation
It's like a vacation.
Every Friday, you can see fireworks on the beach in front of the house.
Unlike Japanese fireworks, they are short, but you would never be able to see them at such a close distance in Japan.
Many of the residents watch the fireworks from their rooms or from the beach or pool.
I remember staying at the Marriott Hotel in Osaka when I was still a nursery school teacher, even though my take-home pay was about 170,000 yen.
I think it was about 100,000 yen per night then.
It was my first time in a luxury hotel, and I have good memories of the bed being mysteriously spacious and there being two showers that I didn't know how to use.
The price was more than twice as much for the same purpose of sleeping.
I felt I had some idea of what people spend their money on.
Experiencing expensive things for the first time is a scary thing.
If you just want to sleep or eat, you don't need something that expensive.
But what you get by daring to spend money on it will be much more than that.
Some of the things I feel I don't need.
You just have to experience them and then decide.
I think it is important to experience everything for the time being.
If you just want to stay at the Hilton this time, there are probably cheaper places to stay.
However, if you just want to stay at the Hilton, there are probably cheaper places.
Watching fireworks up close and personal
