アメリカの映画館は驚かせることがたくさんありました。
・ドリンクとポップコーンはおかわりし放題
・シートがほぼフラットでふかふか
・通常料金が20＄と割高
と日本とは違うところを感じながら映画館へ
今回は「リトル・マーメイド」を観てきました。
映画の1番の感想としては
何かを得るのには、何かを捨てなければいけないということ
特に望みを叶えようとすればするほど手放さないといけないものがある
ということを改めて感じさせられた作品でした。
映画の中でなくても日々の日常でもよくあることや共通する部分があると思い、解説していきますね。
主人公アリエル
舞台は海の中の人魚の世界
主人公のアリエルは王の王様のトリトンの娘（ちなみに娘は５、６人いる美人）
王様を含め、人魚たちは女王を人間に殺されたこともあり、人間には敵対心がある。
そんなアリエルは綺麗な赤髪で、歌うことが好き
人間の世界に興味を持ち、船の上で人間が踊ったり、歌を歌ったりするときは海面から出てきて、バレないように見ていました。
それくらい人間の世界に興味を持っている女の子
誰しも自分が知らない世界や環境に興味を持ちます。
自分が今まで経験したことのないことには特に興味を持ちやすいです。
周りにバレないように
ネットで調べたり、情報を集めることもするでしょう。
好奇心は煙たがられる
ついつい、人間の様子や海の変わっているものを探そうとするアリエルの行動を父やお姉さんたちはあまりよく思っていませんでした。
好奇心を持ちなさいと言われつつ、どこか好奇心は煙たがられる傾向があります。
海外に行きたいと思う
→日本の方が安全だからやめときな
仕事を辞めたい
→なかなか就職先も見つけにくいから今は我慢した方がいい
とか、好奇心を持つときっと周りは応援してくれません。
煙たがられるのを人は嫌う
好奇心があっても、人は煙たがられるのを嫌うのでついつい諦めてしまいます。
アリエルが実際に人間に憧れて、人間のように足で歩いて、ダンスしたり、いろんな人間の世界を体験したい！
と思った時に魔女が現れました。
魔女はアリエルに声をもらう代わりに人間にさせてあげるという条件を出したのです。
（魔女の思惑は割愛します）
人間になりたかったはずのアリエルだが、実際に今の生活を無くしてまで得るということに対して、不安を感じ、一度断ります。
結果的にアリエルはお父さんに人間の物を集めたり、興味を持っていることがバレて、大切にしていたものを壊されたこともあり、魔女の条件を受け入れて人間になってしまいました。
好奇心はいつからか悔いになる
結果的にアリエルは人間になったが、もしこのまま魔女の条件を断り続けていたら、どうなっていたのでしょうか。
おそらく、今まで通り、人間世界に憧れ、人間になってみたいという思いを抱きながら人魚の女王様として、人魚の世界を生き続けるでしょう。
そして、死ぬ時に「あ〜あの時魔女の条件を受け入れとけばよかったな〜」
とどこか思ってしまいます。
好奇心は昇華されないといつの日か悔いになるということです。
期限を決める、そこで変わらなければそのままの生活へ
とはいえ、好奇心を実現させるには不安をつきものです。
そんな時に期限を設けることは効果的です。
アリエルの場合は魔女からの条件の「３日」でした。
もし、好奇心を昇華させたいと思うのであれば期限を設けることがいいかもしれません。
1年まずはやってみる！
それで決めた期間のうちにその次が見えればそのまま突き進めばいいし、見つからなければ潔く諦めればいいのです。
おそらく、アリエルもこの３日のうちにイケメン王子に会わなければそのまま人間になろうとは思わず、黙って人魚の世界に戻ったでしょう。
成功すれば反対していた人は味方になる。
物語の最後にはアリエルは人間と一緒になることを決めた時
あれだけ反対していたお父さんやお姉さんたち、そして人魚の仲間が海面から出てきて祝福をしてくれます。
というシーンがあるのだが、アリエルからした、「虫のいい話だな」と思うわけです。
しかし、アリエルは家族であり、みんなが自分のことを心配してくれているからこそ、反対してたことも知っていたこともあり、涙を流して
「I love you」
というセリフを言っていましたが、
本当に自分を思って、心配してくれている反対は、あなたが成功すれば大きな味方になり、それはリスペクトに変わるということです。
人の心というのは良くも悪くも変わります。
人は自分の意見を正当化させたいからです。
誰も間違いをしたくない、自分が正しいと思いたいです。
過去に仮に反対したが、あなたが成功した時には応援するという手段を選ぶというわけです。
だから、応援されるようになればそれはある意味成功かもしれない。
おわりに
まだ、リトル・マーメイドを観ていない方のためにも内容はあまり記事にしていないが、映画のストーリーを深堀してみるというのは色々興味深いことがわかります。
正解はありません。
自分なりに主人公がもしこの時にこの行動をしていたら・・・
どうして、この時に主人公はこのような行動をとったのか？
などを考察してみるのも映画の面白さかなと。
今回のリトルマーメイドを通して、改めて
何かを得るのは、何かを捨てなければいけない
ということを感じされられました。
アリエルの場合は、
人間の生活を手に入れるために、自分の声を失った
ということ。
その結果、アリエルはこれからの人生を海の中ではなく憧れの世界で生活する切符を掴んだのです。
ポイントとなるのは、得る前に捨てるということ。
多くの人が得ることばかりを考えています。
それでは海面から人間の様子を見るだけのアリエルと同じです。
現に、何かを捨ててて得ようとしているのであればそのまま突き進んでみましょう。

色々ある。
馬鹿にもされる
でも、そいつらが全員応援してくれるようになればもっと自分は楽しいステージに行けます。

This time we saw "The Little Mermaid".
My first impression of the movie was

This film reminded me of that.

Ariel, the main character
The setting is the world of mermaids in the sea
The main character, Ariel, is the daughter of Triton, the king of kings (a beautiful woman who, by the way, has five or six daughters).
The mermaids, including the king, are hostile to humans because their queen was killed by a human.
Such Ariel has beautiful red hair and loves to sing.
She is interested in the human world, and when humans dance or sing on the ship, she comes out of the water and watches them without being noticed.
That's how interested the girl is in the human world.
Everyone is interested in the world and environment they do not know.
It is especially easy to be interested in things you have never experienced before.
Don't let people find out about you.
They will even look things up on the Internet and gather information.
Curiosity is a smoking gun.
Ariel's father and sisters did not think much of her behavior, as she was always trying to find out what people were doing and what was unusual in the sea.
They told her to be curious, but curiosity tends to be somewhat smoky.

As a result, Ariel's father finds out that she collects and is interested in human things and destroys the things she cherishes, so she accepts the witch's condition and becomes human.
Curiosity somehow becomes regret.
As a result, Ariel became human, but what would have happened if she had continued to refuse the witches' conditions?
She would probably continue to live in the mermaid world as she has always done, as a mermaid queen, longing for the human world and wanting to become human.
And when she dies, she will think, "Oh, I wish I had accepted the witch's condition back then…"

If Ariel had not met the handsome prince within those three days, she probably would not have thought of becoming human and would have returned to the mermaid world without a word.
If she succeeded, those who opposed her would become her allies.
At the end of the story, when Ariel decided to join the humans
At the end of the story, when Ariel decides to join the humans, her father, sisters, and mermaid friends, who had opposed her so much, come out of the sea and congratulate her.
From Ariel's point of view, she thinks that this is a "selfish" story.

Opposition that really cares about you and cares about you will be a great ally if you succeed, and that means it will turn into respect.
